Shrimp Caesar Salad

Shrimp Caesar Salad

Shrimp Caesar Salad is a quick, flavorful, and protein-packed meal combining juicy shrimp, crisp romaine lettuce, creamy Caesar dressing, crunchy croutons, and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights, it delivers restaurant-quality taste with minimal prep and cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp

  • Fresh peeled and deveined shrimp (about 12 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)

Salad Base

  • 1 large head of romaine lettuce, washed and chopped

Dressing and Toppings

  • 1/2 cup creamy Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup crunchy croutons

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Season peeled and deveined shrimp with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook in a hot skillet over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove and let cool slightly.
  2. Wash and chop the lettuce: Rinse romaine lettuce under cold water, dry thoroughly, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Transfer to a large salad bowl.
  3. Toss with dressing: Add creamy Caesar dressing to the romaine lettuce and toss gently but thoroughly to coat every leaf.
  4. Add shrimp and toppings: Top the dressed lettuce with cooked shrimp. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and crunchy croutons. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to brighten flavors.
  5. Serve immediately: Serve the Shrimp Caesar Salad right away to maintain the crispness of the lettuce and the warmth of the shrimp.

Notes

  • Use room temperature shrimp to keep the salad from getting cold too quickly and to enhance flavor.
  • Start with a small amount of dressing and add more as needed to avoid soggy greens.
  • Make homemade croutons by toasting cubes of day-old bread with olive oil and garlic for extra crunch.
  • Choose low-sodium dressing or reduce added salt for a heart-healthy version.
  • Grate Parmesan cheese fresh rather than using pre-shredded for better texture and taste.
