Strawberry Mousse Dessert

Strawberry Mousse Dessert

Strawberry Mousse Dessert is a sweet, light, and irresistibly creamy treat that combines the fresh flavor of ripe strawberries with a fluffy, smooth texture. Easy to make with simple pantry ingredients, this mousse melts in your mouth and makes an elegant dessert for any occasion, perfect for both beginners and experienced bakers.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • Fresh Strawberries – ripe and fragrant, about 2 cups (approx. 300g)
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – 1 cup (240ml), chilled
  • Sugar – 1/4 cup (50g), adjust to taste
  • Gelatin Powder – 1 teaspoon (or Agar Agar as a vegetarian alternative)
  • Vanilla Extract – 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Puree: Wash and hull the fresh strawberries. Blend them into a smooth puree. Optionally strain the puree to remove seeds for an ultra-silky texture, which forms the fresh fruity base of the mousse.
  2. Bloom the Gelatin: Sprinkle the gelatin powder over a small amount (about 2 tablespoons) of cold water and let it soak for a few minutes until softened. Warm gently until fully melted without boiling, then stir into the strawberry puree to help the mousse set properly.
  3. Whip the Cream: Using chilled heavy whipping cream, beat it on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overbeat to avoid turning the cream into butter. This will give the mousse its airy texture.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Gently fold the strawberry puree mixture into the whipped cream in batches, using smooth and gentle movements to preserve the light and fluffy texture, ensuring even flavor distribution.
  5. Chill and Set: Pour the combined mousse into serving glasses or a bowl. Refrigerate for at least 2 to 3 hours to allow the mousse to firm up while keeping its soft, fluffy consistency.

Notes

  • Chill your mixing bowl and beaters before whipping cream for better results.
  • Always use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and avoid excess moisture from frozen berries.
  • Fold the puree into the whipped cream gently to keep the mousse airy and light.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness just before folding to get the perfect balance.
  • Allow sufficient chilling time for the mousse to set with the ideal texture.
