Ingredients

Scale

Steak

  • 1 steak (ribeye, filet mignon, or sirloin), about 810 oz
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, a pinch
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Shrimp & Aromatics

  • 810 large shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or thawed)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (if dairy-free)

Lobster Cream Sauce

  • 1 cup lobster stock or lobster broth (or seafood/clam broth as substitute)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives), chopped for garnish
  • Optional: pinch of paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Steak: Season the steak generously with salt, pepper, and a bit of paprika. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with butter and olive oil. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until a golden crust forms. Remove the steak and let it rest while preparing the sauce.
  2. Sauté the Shrimp: In the same pan, add minced garlic and chopped shallots. Cook until fragrant and translucent. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and curled, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Make the Lobster Cream Sauce: Pour lobster stock into the pan, scraping up any browned bits for added flavor. Let it reduce slightly. Stir in the heavy cream and cook until the sauce thickens to a velvety consistency. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  4. Combine Everything: Return shrimp to the pan and stir gently to coat with sauce. Plate the rested steak and ladle the creamy shrimp and lobster sauce generously on top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or chives before serving.

Notes

  • Always let your steak rest after searing to lock in juices and ensure maximum tenderness.
  • Use fresh or properly thawed shrimp for the best texture and flavor in the sauce.
  • Do not overcook shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture; cook just until pink.
  • Homemade or high-quality lobster stock greatly enhances the depth of the sauce.
  • Add cream gradually to achieve your preferred sauce thickness.
