Juicy Cheddar Ranch Chicken Burgers

Juicy Cheddar Ranch Chicken Burgers are an easy-to-make, flavorful combination of tender ground chicken, sharp cheddar cheese, and zesty ranch seasoning. Perfect for backyard BBQs or quick weeknight dinners, these burgers offer a juicy, cheesy, and satisfying meal that appeals to the whole family.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh or thawed lean ground chicken
  • 1 cup shredded sharp or extra sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed gluten-free crackers/almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Burger Assembly

  • 46 soft burger buns, toasted (or large lettuce leaves for low-carb)
  • Fresh lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Pickles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patty Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and the beaten egg. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, taking care not to overmix to keep the patties tender.
  2. Add the Cheddar Cheese: Fold shredded cheddar cheese gently into the mixture, ensuring it is well-distributed to create cheesy pockets throughout the burgers.
  3. Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty about half an inch thick, pressing slightly to ensure even thickness for uniform cooking.
  4. Cook the Burgers: Preheat your grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown on the outside and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Toast the Buns: While the patties cook, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until they are golden and slightly crisp to add texture contrast.
  6. Assemble and Serve: Layer each toasted bun with a juicy chicken patty, fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and pickles. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Don’t overwork the meat to keep burgers tender rather than dense.
  • Chill patties in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes before cooking to maintain shape.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure patties reach a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Use fresh sharp cheddar and quality ranch seasoning for maximum flavor.
  • Let cooked patties rest a few minutes before serving to lock in juices.
