Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 34 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or chives, chopped
  • Grated Parmesan or shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the garlic and rice: Peel and finely chop or mince fresh garlic cloves. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until it runs clear to remove excess starch for fluffier rice.
  2. Sauté the garlic in butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and gently sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Cook the rice with broth: Add the rinsed rice to the pan and stir to coat each grain in the buttery garlic mixture. Pour in chicken or vegetable broth, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is fully absorbed.
  4. Fluff and finish: Remove the lid and gently fluff the rice with a fork to separate grains. Stir in fresh chopped parsley or chives if desired. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor.
  • Rinse rice thoroughly to prevent clumping.
  • Simmer gently to preserve texture and avoid burning.
  • Sauté garlic in butter first to infuse flavor.
  • Fluff rice carefully with a fork after cooking.
