Instructions

  1. Prep the Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them completely dry. Ensure no moisture remains, as this will interfere with the chocolate coating.
  2. Crush the Cookies: Place the sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag and crush into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or heavy pan. For varied texture, leave some cookie pieces slightly chunkier.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Heat the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil or shortening to thin and soften the chocolate for easier dipping.
  4. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip off, then roll the strawberry directly into the crushed cookie crumbs to coat thoroughly.
  5. Set and Chill: Place the coated strawberries on parchment paper or a silicone mat. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow the chocolate and cookie coating to harden fully.
