  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)

Cheese Toppings

  • 1 ½ cups shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan Cheese

  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Dissolve active dry yeast and sugar in warm water and let it sit until foamy, about 5 to 10 minutes. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until dough forms. Knead dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Breadsticks: Punch down the risen dough to release air. Roll it out into a 12×8 inch rectangle on a floured surface. Transfer to a greased baking sheet or parchment paper. Slice dough into strips about 1 inch wide using a knife or pizza cutter. Optionally twist each strip for a rustic look.
  3. Add the Garlic Butter and Cheese: Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Brush generously over dough strips. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over each breadstick, then dust with parmesan cheese for a crispy topping.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake breadsticks for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbling. Watch carefully to avoid burning. Remove from oven and sprinkle fresh parsley on top for color and freshness.
