Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cone Shell

  • Frozen tater tots (quantity enough to form cones, approx. 20-25 tots)
  • Olive oil (for baking, optional light brushing)

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite melty cheese)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced pickles
  • Ketchup, for drizzling
  • Mustard, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Bake the Tater Tots into Cones: Press frozen tater tots firmly into cone molds or shape them carefully by hand into sturdy cones, ensuring they stick together well. Place them on a lined baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Add the Filling: When cones are cool enough to handle, fill each cone generously with the cooked ground beef. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top while the beef is still warm so it melts perfectly.
  4. Add Toppings: Top the cheesy beef filling with diced onions, pickles, and drizzle ketchup and mustard to recreate the classic cheeseburger flavor.
  5. Final Bake (Optional): Place the stuffed cones back in the oven for 3-5 minutes if you want extra melted cheese and to warm the toppings before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients like fresh diced onions and pickles for the best flavor.
  • Do not overfill the cones to keep them intact and avoid spills.
  • Press tater tots firmly when shaping cones to prevent crumbling during baking.
  • Metal or silicone cone molds help achieve consistent shapes and ease of handling.
  • Add shredded cheese on top of hot beef to ensure it melts beautifully.
