Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package store-bought frozen or fresh ravioli (about 20 pieces)
  • Olive oil spray, as needed
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ravioli: Thaw frozen ravioli if using, or use fresh ravioli. Pat each ravioli dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture, helping the coating stick better and ensuring a crisp exterior.
  2. Set Up Breading Stations: In one bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. In a second bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, mixing well.
  3. Coat the Ravioli: Dip each ravioli first into the beaten eggs, then press it firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, making sure it is fully coated. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb dipping once more for a double coating.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for 3 to 5 minutes to ensure the ravioli crisp immediately when cooked.
  5. Air Fry the Ravioli: Lightly spray the air fryer basket or tray with olive oil spray. Arrange the coated ravioli in a single layer without overcrowding. Spray the tops lightly with olive oil spray. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the ravioli halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve Warm: Carefully remove the ravioli from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces such as marinara, garlic aioli, or pesto for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation for even crisping.
  • Use a light mist of olive oil spray instead of deep frying for a healthier crunch.
  • Double coating the ravioli in egg and breadcrumbs creates an extra crunchy texture.
  • Keep an eye on cooking time to avoid overcooking, which can dry out the filling.
  • Prefer Panko breadcrumbs for a lighter, crunchier crust than traditional breadcrumbs.
